ECLIPSE is a circular ceiling light reduced to two elements: a broad illuminated surface and a slim metal rim around it. There is no ornament, no visible fixing and no shaping to the face - the whole design rests on getting the proportion of rim to disc right, which is harder than it sounds and obvious when it is wrong.
The broad face gives an even glow with no visible hotspot, which is the hardest thing to achieve in a flush fitting and the reason most of them look cheap from directly underneath. Keeping the rim slim stops the fitting reading as a thick puck stuck to the plaster, and the contrast between the pale lit surface and the darker metal edge is what gives it definition from below.
It suits modern kitchens, hallways, bedrooms, landings and bathrooms where a clean ceiling is wanted and a pendant would be in the way. Three sizes let the same fitting run consistently through a whole floor. Hardwired fitting: installation by a qualified electrician is required; confirm bathroom zone suitability before specifying for a wet area.
