FLUTE uses flip-down drawers behind a fluted front, and both halves of that description earn their place. The flip mechanism holds shoes at an angle so the cabinet stays shallow against a wall, and the fluting casts fine vertical shadows that give a plain cabinet face real dimension rather than a flat painted panel.
Fluted surfaces have become shorthand for a certain quality of joinery, and they work particularly well in an entryway where light rakes across the front from a door or a window at a low angle. Compared with a basic open shoe rack, the closed drawers keep footwear out of sight, out of the dust, and away from a hallway that otherwise looks permanently untidy.
Five finish options let it match existing hall furniture or a door colour. Assembly is required. Fix the cabinet to the wall using the supplied bracket - flip-drawer cabinets are front-heavy when the drawers are open - and keep the heaviest footwear in the lowest drawer.
