GOODNEST OPAL | Alabaster Oval Wall Light
OPAL is an elongated oval of alabaster with an open centre, lit continuously around its full form. The negative space in the middle is what gives it presence - the fixture reads as a drawn outline of light on the wall rather than a solid block, and the wall finish or paint colour behind stays visible through it.
The mount is dark metal and deliberately discreet, sized to disappear behind the stone so nothing competes with the shape. Rounded edges keep the silhouette soft, and when the light is on, subtle variation within the alabaster becomes visible across the ring, changing gradually around the curve as the stone thickness shifts from one side to the other.
It works best where it can be seen properly: a hallway wall, above a console, beside a bed, or as a pair flanking a mirror, where the two outlines answer each other. Two sizes are available for smaller and more generous walls. This is a hardwired fitting; installation by a qualified electrician is required, and the fixing should be set into a solid substrate rather than plasterboard alone.
