The name is apt: the profile reads as terraced levels rather than a single continuous surface, and light escapes through the gaps between panels as well as through the stone itself.
Rounded edges soften what could easily have become a hard, angular silhouette, and small brass-tone fasteners give subtle definition across the pale stone. Those fasteners are structural and visible on purpose - they mark where one panel meets the next and keep the layering legible when the light is off and the fitting is read as an object rather than a source.
