PORTAL is an asymmetric arch shaped from softly illuminated alabaster. The asymmetry is the whole idea: one side of the arch rises higher than the other, so the fitting has a direction to it and reads as a considered shape rather than a symmetrical half-moon that could be hung either way up.
A round metal backplate provides clean contrast to the curved stone and gives the arch something geometric to sit against, which stops the soft form drifting on a plain wall. When lit, the alabaster shows subtle natural-looking veining while diffusing the light evenly across the curve, so the brightness follows the arch rather than pooling at one end and fading at the other.
Because it has a direction, placement matters more than with a symmetrical sconce: hung as a mirrored pair either side of a bed, mirror or fireplace, the two arches lean toward or away from each other and the arrangement becomes deliberate rather than accidental. Two finish options available. Hardwired fitting: professional electrical installation into solid substrate required.
