CANDELA takes the lantern - a form usually associated with glass and traditional joinery - and rebuilds it in alabaster panels held in a structured metal frame. The geometry stays crisp: clean vertical lines, defined corners, and flat faces that let the stone's veining read as continuous planes rather than curving away out of sight.
Framing the panels does something a solid shade cannot. The metal edges stay dark against the lit stone, so the fitting keeps a clear drawn outline when it is on, and the panels glow as distinct faces rather than merging into one soft undifferentiated mass. A slender suspension cord keeps the hardware minimal above it and the attention on the lantern itself.
The lantern shape sits comfortably in both traditional and contemporary rooms, which makes it useful in halls and stairwells where the architecture and the furnishings may not agree with each other. Two sizes are available, and a pair hung at different heights works well in a stairwell where one fitting would leave the lower flight dark.
