ORBIT is a solar pillar light for the top of a gatepost, a driveway pier or a garden wall - the places where mains lighting would mean digging a trench and paying an electrician. It charges through the day and lights itself at dusk, which is the whole appeal: nothing to switch, nothing to wire, nothing added to the electricity bill at the end of the quarter.
The rounded lantern form is deliberately quiet. It reads as part of the masonry rather than as a bolted-on fixture, and the warm output is aimed downward and outward to mark the pillar and the ground beside it rather than glaring across a neighbour's window. Two of them on either side of an entrance do more for how a house reads at night than any amount of floodlighting.
The housing is built for year-round outdoor exposure, and the panel sits on the upper face where it catches the most daylight.
