The full-length zip is what makes it usable: a drawstring or flap closure leaves a gap that dust and damp find over eleven months, while a zip closes the bag completely and lets you load the tree flat rather than forcing it through a narrow opening.

Reinforced handles carry the actual weight. A packed artificial tree is heavier and more awkward than people expect until they lift one, and handles are where cheap storage bags fail - usually halfway up a loft ladder, which is the worst possible moment for a seam to give way.
